Position Summary

Catenon India is looking for a Software QA Manager for one of its clients.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of QA leads and testers responsible for designing and executing E2E test strategies for all the projects under CTO software org
  • Achieve effective resource utilization within his/her team and cross functional collaboration across projects under CTO software org
  • Be a SQA thought leader and establish a framework for continuous Quality improvements, achieve consistent best practices and enable test automation & performance testing across projects under CTO software org
  • Responsible for hiring, motivating, and retaining QA resources through effective performance management
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to understand application architecture, identify testing requirements, and create test strategies, test plans & comprehensive test cases to effectively validate them
  • Design & drive implementation of functional, integration, system, regression, compatibility, and end-to-end testing of iOS & Android applications for routers
  • Provide technical direction, coaching, guidance, and support to team members in multiple geo locations on all aspects of SQA testing to ensure industry standards and best practices are followed
  • Establish SQA processes and implement effective Quality metrics and KPIs across projects under CTO software org
  • Work with QA teams to conducts tests, document and analyze test results and present findings to different stakeholders
  • Perform root cause analysis for escaped defects and drive initiatives to improve the testing approach and test coverage to prevent defect leakage
  • Implement customer focused test strategies identifying most rigorous issues impacting customer behavior
  • Prioritize UI & API test cases for automation and set up test environments for continuous test execution
  • Work with third party partners to investigate & troubleshoot issues, determine root causes, understand their test environments, and gather test cases, test results, to ensure E2E validation of services
  • Implement regression test optimization through structured Risk Based Testing and exploratory testing
  • Implement creative solutions to increase test coverage partnering with different internal testing groups
  • Create and update defect classification criteria for software projects working with engineering and product management leads
  • Work with engineering and product teams to drive testability and debuggability of software systems
  • Ensure effective QA engagement in sprint teams for Agile testing implementation
  • Establish test environments and test data management strategies and implement them for different testing activities
  • Set up test lab with required devices for remote QA testers
  • Earn trust through regular communication with senior management on status, risks and change control
  • Establish effective onboarding processes, knowledge retention and expedite resource onboarding across projects under CTO software org
  • Coach and mentor QA staff members across projects to improve productivity and ensure high quality deliverables aligning with organizational goals
  • Utilize automation tools and methodologies to improve individual team effectiveness and to increase efficiencies in the QA process
  • Leverage JIRA to enforce process standardization and consistent best practices implementation across software projects
  • Create a team environment that fosters collaboration, respect, and professionalism to drive innovation
  • Own the metrics for Software Quality, define, measure and report on these metrics

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience designing, developing, and implementing E2E testing strategies for Mobile applications, Cloud and Embedded systems
  • 7+ years of experience as a manager or lead of a quality assurance team
  • Expert knowledge of QA testing processes, design methodologies, testing techniques and industry best practices
  • Experience with building automated tests for Mobile Apps, Cloud and embedded systems
  • Experience with SOAP / REST APIs testing
  • Experience with standard QA and development tools
  • Creativity and initiative to improve test coverage and effectiveness
  • Extensive experience with Agile testing practices
  • Proficient in prioritizing tasks that can drive outcomes aligning with organizational goals
  • Adept in improving QA processes that can maximize efficiency
